STEPHANIE D'ARGENT

Stephanie D'Argent
Stephanie D'Argent was born to middle-classed merchants in Ordulin, Sembia. Her parents were originally from Cormyr, but relocated due to business contacts. She was born healthy, strong, and perhaps most importantly lucky. She was also the 8 th child, and last child, one of only two girls. She showed a strong tomboyish streak and proved to be VERY lucky as a child. She learned to rely on this luck, and sometimes took foolish chances. At the age of eight, Stephanie found a platinum piece in the gutter. She enjoyed great luck upon finding it ( in her mind ) and took it as her good luck charm. She treasures this coin above all her other possesions.

At the age of 12, Stephanie discovered the worship of Tymora ( with a little help from her older sister. ) She decided that her luck made her especially appealing to the goddess, and asked to be sent to the temple for religious training. Seeing that she was of little use as a marriable daughter ( not pretty enough, and too independent ) her father agreed. She was sent to live at the temple.
After 6 years of training, Tymora had still not blessed Stephanie with the powers or visions of a priestess. The priests decided it was time to steer her in different direction. So, they turned her over to the temple guards, and she was taught the way of the warrior. She took to this like a fish to water, convinced that to become a priestess of Tymora, she must first prove her prowess and luck as a warrior.
Three years passed, with Stephanie being the model temple guard. So fervent was her devotion, that the High Priestess of the temple saw, in a vision, that Stephanie should have the use of a holy blade ( not a Holy Blade ) called Luckrider. They delivered the blade up to her and set her on a quest to bring luck to the luckless. Thus Stephanie set out to deliver the message of Tymora as a lay person, not as clergy.
While living in the temple, Stephanie spent her time learning the priests favorite pastime, gambling. She learned to sing and ride while she still lived at home with her family.
At present, Stephanie has set her life's goal to be the best follower of Tymora she can be. She spreads the word of faith to those who will listen, and shows how luck can change your life to those who will not. She remains in contact with her parents, but is distant from them, seeing her life as a devoted of Tymora as more important than her family. She is presently wandering the countryside, looking for adventure, and the luckless ( even though she doesn't know what someone who is luckless looks like. )
